Minister Visits SULO Australia
12 April 2010
The Minister for Climate Change and the Environment, The Hon. Frank Sartor MP, visited SULO Australia’s wheelie bin manufacturing facility on the New South Wales Central Coast to investigate the company’s new adiabatic cooling towers.
The new towers are used in the manufacture of Mobile Garbage Bins and are designed to save over seven million litres of water per year.
The water savings plan initiated by SULO was supported by the Department of Environment and Climate Change (DECC) who provided funding to assist with the implementation of the new cooling system.
Minister Sartor, along with Local Members Marie Andrews and David Harris, were taken on a tour of the SULO facility and given a demonstration of how the new cooling towers operate and how they play a crucial role in the manufacturing process.
“The new system not only provides a considerable water saving but also assists in achieving a reduction in energy consumption due to the highly efficient pumps that feed water through the cooling towers” stated Thorsten Voss, SULO’s Director of Manufacturing.
“Minister Sartor was impressed by the extensive savings of the newly implemented system and the efficiency in the operations of the factory” continued Mr Voss.
