SULO Gets International Recognition!
11 March 2009
SULO is proud to announce a new NATA accredited testing facility, located at their Australian manufacturing plant on the Central Coast of New South Wales.
The National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) has certified SULO’s internal testing laboratory as an internationally recognised testing facility for Mobile Garbage Bins (MGBs).
SULO’s Quality Assurance Technician Paul Render said “NATA accreditation recognises and promotes facilities competent in specific types of testing. The certification process wasn’t simple; following approval of our application, we had to be audited on all aspects of our testing equipment, calibration methods and controls as well as all tests that would be performed under AS4123. The process took over twelve months and to maintain our accreditation we must be audited every six months”.
Thorsten Voss, SULO’s Director of Manufacturing, added “our facility is the only one in Australia accredited by NATA to test MGBs. We have the ability to certify Australian product to both Australian Standards and International Standards. For SULO, this means we no longer need to ship MGBs to Europe for testing and certification which is an ongoing requirement of the recently released AS4123. SULO has achieved its initial certification on all Australian made wheelie bins, but will use this NATA approved facility to constantly monitor its production process and product quality output. For the rest of the industry, it means we can offer independent, certified, testing to the Australian Standard”.
