RFID Insertion

SULO MGB Australia has the ability to provide RFID insertion into manufactured MGBs, an innovation in waste management. RFID, Radio Frequency Identification, allows for an MGB to be automatically identified by means of radio waves. During manufacture, SULO has the ability to discretely secure RFID tags into two locations on the MGBs, registering each bin’s serial number to its particular tag. Each garbage truck is fitted with an RFID reader and as the wheelie bin is lifted and emptied into the truck, the RFID reader scans the RFID tag and collates the data, transmitting it to an on board computer which is then downloaded to a central server.

The RFID process can collect information regarding the residence and the MGB such as the address, serial number of the bin, the type of waste and also information regarding the collection route and driver details.

RFID technology provides benefits for service providers, contractors and consumers, allowing for the tracking of lost or stolen bins, traceability of trucks and the monitoring of customer behaviour.
